Cloud Administrator III

Location: Remote

SUMMARY:

The Cloud Administrator III reports to the Director, Cloud Infrastructure and is accountable for systems support and configuration of operating systems, virtualization, storage, replication, de-duplication, hypervisors, and other associated information systems. The Cloud Administrator III will play a crucial role in the execution of implementation and subsequent support of new customers in a multi-tenant cloud environment and/or the administration, maintenance, and support of our cloud infrastructure. The Cloud Administrator III works closely with the Service Center as well as engineers to ensure systems remain stable and customer expectations and Service Level Agreements are always met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support, installation and maintenance of physical and virtual servers, data center hardware, operating systems, hypervisors, storage systems and related systems management software and configurations.
  • Provide technical and operational support for day-to-day operations of a multi-tenant cloud infrastructure leveraging a multitude of delivery solutions including but not limited to Active Directory, VMware vSphere, AWS stack and FC SAN.
  • Collect error logs and open vendor tickets as directed.
  • Provide Tier II support for incidents to ensure operations systems are returned to service as soon as possible.
  • Produce and maintain technical resolution documentation, such as knowledge base articles, on systems, infrastructure, and processes.
  • Able to participate in a support on-call schedule on a rotational basis.
  • Adhere to security procedures, standards, and protocols related to stated technologies.
  • Adhere to standards for availability and business continuity and test related systems against the standard on a defined basis.
  • Maintain monitoring standards for performance, capacity and availability management ensuring the highest level of service performance and availability.
  • Train, mentor, and develop others where needed.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and written, with customers, key stakeholders, and technical specialists.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience:

  • Three years or more of progressive experience in VMWare and/or Hyper-V virtual machine management supporting and configuring a combination of Microsoft or Linux Guest Operating Systems. Specific skill sets include but not limited to demonstrated proficiency with:
    • vSphere, VMWare vCenter Server, Distributed Resource Scheduling, vSphere Standard Switching, vSphere Virtual Distributed Switching, Host/Guest Networking, vSphere HA, ESXi Cluster administration, Datastore and RDM administration.
  • Fundamental understanding of FC SAN, iSCSI and NAS storage sought for this position.
  • Three or more year’s progressive experience in a variety of delivery solutions including but not limited to VMWare vSphere, Dell Servers, IDRAC, HP One View, HP Virtual Connect Manager and Cisco UCS Manager.
  • Experience with AWS is preferred for this position.
  • Adeptness in the configuration and support of HP ‘BL Series’ Blade Servers and ‘C Series’ Enclosures, Cisco UCS Blades and HP DL Series and Dell R Series servers is preferred.
  • Two or more years of progressive experience in large enterprise health care systems including Meditech, Cerner, McKesson Health Information Systems, Medical Imaging, PACS, and/or Health Information Exchange is preferred for this position.
  • Adept at cloud best practices and data center virtualization in multi-tenant environments.
  • Background and experience with server hardening and security event prevention technologies such as Anti-Virus, SYSLOG server monitoring, etc preferred.
  • Experience with advanced datacenter wide virtualization strongly preferred.
  • Education or equivalent experience in ITIL, Cobit, and/or HIPAA preferred for this position.
  • Adeptness in data center management to include racking and stacking data center equipment, cable management and maintaining data center drawings and documentation.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, Computer Science, or other related field or an equivalent amount of experience is preferred for this position.

Certifications or Licenses:

  • Certifications in Microsoft, VMware, Storage, AWS and other Cloud Technologies considered a plus for this position.
  • ITIL Certification preferred.

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills required.

TRAVEL REQUIRED:

Approximately 15% Travel
